The quality of used goods is still very nice and made me famous brands to create a logo that looks exclusively, but it does not look expensive. Style design with clean lines is the way I choose, using a form of price tag as a frame for the company name. The concept unites two parts of the clients business - home goods and gift into a unique icon combined with a simple font which compliments the style of the graphic. A minimalist logo like this is perfect for the consultant who specializes in making companies work more efficiently, no matter which type of efficiency they specialize in.

The best fonts for logos are the fonts that can effectively convey your brand's personality and image. A look inside the Icon of the Seas, the world's biggest cruise ship, as it prepares for voyage

new giant cruise ship

"They want to stay with our brand and journey to different destinations that require more versatility in ship size." Three neighborhoods — the plant-lined Central Park, the indoor Royal Promenade and the Suite Neighborhood — are returning from the line's last series of giant ships, the five-vessel Oasis Class. While the first sailing of Icon of the Seas with paying passengers is an Eastern Caribbean itinerary, the vessel will operate voyages to the Western Caribbean, too. A multiperson team from TPG will also be reporting live from a three-night Icon of the Seas preview sailing for media and travel agents scheduled for Jan. 20. Mardi Gras was a huge hit for Carnival Cruise Line in 2021, leading the cruise line to build sister ships Carnival Celebration in 2022 and Carnival Jubilee in 2023.

Royal Caribbean bills the older Wonder of the Seas as the “biggest ship in the world.” When the new one is ready, it will be 10 feet longer, heavier and will carry more people, perhaps giving it bragging rights as the world’s largest. Even so, according to our list of ships ranked by size per passenger, Icon of the Seas will still have a roomy space ratio of 44.7. That ranks it near the top of our list, proving that more people doesn’t always mean more cramped on today’s mega-ships. In the images, you can see some of the onboard features that have the entire industry talking about the groundbreaking new ship. This structure houses a forward lounge area and also serves as the home to the cruise line’s famous aquatic shows.

Liquefied natural gas, meanwhile, is a controversial energy source that involves cooling natural gas to a liquid state to make it easier to transport. The liquid version is “actually worse than ordinary gas,” writes the Natural Resources Defense Council. “The energy required to chill, ship and regasify the fossil fuel makes it far more carbon-intensive and increases the potential for leakage of dangerous methane,” according to the organization.

New law forces Carnival Cruise Line to change advertised price for cruises

As for its onboard offerings, MSC Cruises is taking a page from Royal Caribbean's playbook by breaking down the public areas of MSC World Europa into districts. They will include an adults-only "Zen district" and a separate "family district" that houses as many as 10 new kids facilities. There also will be a central interior promenade with entertainment, shops and bars. MSC World Europa will be 21 decks high — three decks higher than the Oasis Class ships.

Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. The four ships mentioned above aren't the only giant new cruise vessels to debut in the last year or two. Europe-based Costa Cruises and Aida Cruises also have unveiled massive new ships since 2018 that rank among the 10 biggest cruise ships ever built -- Costa Smeralda and AIDAnova. We aren't including them here as they primarily are aimed at a European crowd. AIDAnova, in particular, is designed just for the German-speaking market.

The company saw the largest booking day in its history when reservations for the Icon opened in October 2022, leading Michael Bayley, the cruise line's CEO, to call it "the best-selling product in the history of our business." Royal Caribbean and Meyer Turku shipyard began construction on the Star of the Seas in February 2023 just four months after the cruise line unveiled details of the Icon of the Seas. Specifics about the Star aren't public yet — this new vessel won't set sail until the summer of 2025.

Following Incident, Carnival Says Gambling ‘Strictly Forbidden’ Outside of Casino

Already, one of the vessels -- MSC Grandiosa -- is sailing again in the Mediterranean, albeit on cruises that only are open to residents of Europe's Schengen countries. At this size, the vessel surpasses any previous Oasis class ship once built to be the world's largest, setting a strong precident for the upcoming Icon Class. In June 2023, the ship hit a major milestone when it completed its first sea trials outside the shipyard in Turku, Finland.

Designing Thrill Island

Icon will feature the largest waterpark at sea, with six record-breaking slides. That’s certainly been the mantra for Miami based cruise line Royal Caribbean, who just announced their largest ship Icon of the Seas will officially enter service in 2024. At maximum capacity, Icon will be capable of hosting 7,600 passengers on its inaugural sail on January 28, 2024.

The last time that happened was in 2009 when Royal Caribbean unveiled its much-ballyhooed Oasis Class of vessels. Instead, Carnival Cruise Line focused on building medium-sized vessels with very little differentiation between ship classes. The result was a fleet that lacked overall innovation and technological advancement, especially in comparison to leading competitors of Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line.

Next up is the colossal new ship’s first voyage, slated to depart on January 27, 2024. It will sail roundtrip from Miami to the Caribbean islands of St. Kitts, St. Thomas, and the Bahamas. In July — only six months after Icon's debut — the upcoming mega-ship will join its fleet with a series of three- to four-night cruises from Florida's Port Canaveral, Royal Caribbean says. With progress on Icon of the Seas moving along, Royal Caribbean has already started building another large “icon class” ship. The cruise line expects that unnamed vessel to launch in 2025, per a statement. The cruise line is positioning the vessel as “the ultimate family vacation,” as CEO Michael Bayley told reporters earlier this year, per CNN’s Maureen O’Hare.

If you want to sail aboard Icon of the Seas, bookings have seen record demand according to the cruise line. Given the excitement about its arrival and all the new amenities, sailings are considerably more expensive than on other ships in the fleet. We found them to be an average of $850 more per person for the lowest-priced interior cabin aboard Wonder of the Seas, the current newest ship in the fleet. Norwegian Encore is a slightly bigger version of three other Breakaway-Plus class ships that Norwegian has unveiled since 2015 (thanks to a small addition at its back to make room for the laser tag area).

Scheduled to debut in February, the 180,000-ton vessel will be nearly 35% bigger than the biggest Carnival ship currently afloat, the just-unveiled Carnival Panorama, and one of the 10 biggest cruise ships ever from any line. The previous world’s largest cruise ship was also a Royal Caribbean vessel, Wonder of the Seas, which spanned 1,188 feet long and featured 18 decks. The cruise line has announced it's building the largest cruise ship ever — even bigger than its recently unveiled Wonder of the Seas, the current record-holder for world's largest cruise ship. The new Icon of the Seas will carry 7,600 passengers at maximum occupancy (or nearly 10,000 people when you account for the crew) when it first sets sail with guests Jan. 28, 2024. Giant mass-market floating resorts also often attract first-time cruisers, enamored by their family-friendly water parks and Broadway-style shows.

The first step to building this brand-new neighborhood was to conduct research on the adventures themselves. "...We spoke to a lot of people about what they wanted to have [and] what they expected to experience," said Bayley. Royal Caribbean wants to draw in adrenaline junkies with Thrill Island onboard their newest class of ships. While more than two years have passed since Royal Caribbean unveiled this 228,081-ton giant of the seas, it's still the undisputed size leader in the cruise world -- and it will be for at least until 2022.

The ship won’t sail with paying passengers until early 2024, but this marks its initial time to ever cruise to the open water. Fast-growing MSC Cruises has been rolling out ever bigger ships in recent years, culminating last November with the unveiling of the appropriately named MSC Grandiosa. The "grand" new flagship of the line is the biggest MSC Cruises ship ever at 181,543 tons -- and the seventh-largest cruise vessel ever from any line. With capacity for nearly 10,000 passengers and crew, Icon of the Seas is billed as part all-inclusive resort, part theme park, and a massive destination unto itself.

Norwegian Encore also is home to nearly 30 eateries, lounges and bars; Broadway shows; a sprawling spa; a casino that fills half a deck; and more than 2,000 rooms. A sister ship called MSC Virtuosa is due in 2021, with a third vessel in the series coming in 2023. But what they all have in common is that they are among the biggest floating resorts on the planet. Royal Caribbean, too, had just brought out a new giant of the seas just 21 months earlier. The least expensive voyage scheduled for the Icon of the Seas, taking off in September 2024, costs ...

Utopia is set to be 10 feet stubbier, two decks shorter, and 13,940 gross-tons lighter. More specifically, Icon of the Seas measures 1,198 feet long—nearly a quarter of a mile—and has a gross tonnage of 250,800. All that space means it can accommodate 5,600 guests and 2,350 crew members.

The Best New Cruise Ships of 2023

new giant cruise ship

It won't be quite the world's biggest cruise ship, though it will be close. At around 205,000 tons, MSC World Europa will be nearly as big as Royal Caribbean's record-size Oasis Class vessels, including the aforementioned Wonder of the Seas. But Norwegian Prima will be about more than flashy entertainment and activities. Like the four earlier Oasis Class ships, it will be 18 decks high and nearly 1,200 feet long — the equivalent of more than three football fields.

Major Differences Between Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line

This fourth Excel-class cruise ship is the first new-build order placed by Carnival Corporation in five years. Like most of its sister vessels, Symphony of the Seas has three pool areas, a giant waterslide complex, rock climbing walls, surfing simulators, a miniature golf course and even an ice skating rink. But it also is home to such new attractions as the largest family suite at sea. Eighteen decks high and nearly 1,200 feet long, Symphony of the Seas can hold up to 6,680 passengers at maximum occupancy -- an astounding number. The fourth vessel in the line's groundbreaking Oasis Class series of ships also offers a never-before-seen array of onboard attractions. Instead, the upcoming floating resort would join Royal Caribbean's previous Oasis class — the same group as the runner-up in the world's largest cruise ship competition, Wonder of the Seas.

More Royal Caribbean

[+] about $1,851 a person for an interior room; most passenger prices for an interior rooms in other months run between $2,000 and $3,300. Last year, passenger volume outpaced pre-pandemic numbers, and this year is expected to hit a new high of 36 million as spending on experiences has climbed 65% since 2019. And despite its massive size, Schneider said the ship is designed to avoid feeling overcrowded. But the one on Utopia will debut an additional "omakase-inspired" menu, according to the cruise operator. Guests who are quickly bored of the pool could instead spend their afternoons ziplining, laser tagging, escape room-ing, and rock climbing.

MSC World Europa (MSC Cruises)

Throughout the neighborhood, you will find plenty of seating to cheer on family and friends who are stepping up to the challenge. You will step out onto a ledge that hangs 154 feet above the ocean right by the infamous Royal Caribbean crown and anchor. The walkway will stop, and you will be left admiring the ocean views until the trap door releases, sending you on a short glide right back where you began.

lessons learned after trying Carnival for the first time

Wonder of the Seas will be the fifth vessel in Royal Caribbean's groundbreaking Oasis Class series of ships, which are more than 20% bigger than any other cruise ships afloat. In particular, Duffy says Carnival Cruise Line has had the highest demand in over 51 years since the cruise line’s inception. To help meet demand, Carnival Cruise Line transferred newer vessels from European sister brand Costa Cruises. With an Italian-flair Carnival Venezia joined Carnival’s fleet in 2023 and Carnival Firenze will debut in the spring of 2024 for Carnival Cruise Line.

The Oasis class includes some of the world’s largest cruise vessels.

The excitement around the world’s new largest cruise ship continues to grow. Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas is still under construction in Finland, however, it just reached an important milestone. Carnival is entering the Big Ship Wars with a splash, adorning Mardi Gras with the first roller coaster at sea (no, this is not a joke).

CardMatch

Two more of the ships -- Norwegian Encore and Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas -- could be back in operation as early as November. The new Carnival ship, Mardi Gras, is now set for a maiden voyage in February. In short, until the new coronavirus hit, the year was shaping up to be a particularly exciting one for big-ship lovers who always want to be on the latest-and-greatest vessels. Disney Wish (Disney Cruise Line)

As the first ship in the cruise line’s new Sphere class, Sun Princess will be stationed at Port Everglades during the winter 2024 cruise season after completing a season of Mediterranean and Europe cruises from February to September 2024. At 169,116 tons, Norwegian Encore isn't quite as super-sized as the three ships above. But it's right up there among the biggest of the big of the new crop of giant floating mega-resorts, and it's the biggest ship ever for Norwegian -- a brand that has embraced the bigger-is-better worldview with gusto in recent years. To put it another way, these are ships that aren't for people who like intimacy in a vacation.

At 250,800 tons, Icon of the Seas is the first in a new series of ships at Royal Caribbean that will be bigger than anything seen before. "We also remain focused on driving revenue growth throughout our portfolio of world-class cruise lines by continuing to improve execution across all aspects of our operation, yielding higher return on invested capital," said Weinstein. Some critics even drew comparisons to an ill-fated ocean liner of yesteryear, noting it is five times “larger and heavier than the Titanic,” and about 300 feet longer.

The line added additional Oasis Class vessels in 2010, 2016, 2018 and 2021, with each of the vessels being a little bigger than the last. The eight areas feature more than 40 restaurants, bars and lounges, including entertainment across four stages. There are 2,805 cabins on the ship spread across 28 types of accommodations. From Southampton, England, the itinerary includes a visit to Portland, England, before sailing south to Vigo, Spain. From there, the ship will continue to Madeira, Tenerife, and arrive in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on October 9, 2024.

The biggest cruise ship ever built will hit a major construction milestone this weekend. Ranging from 226,838 to 235,600 tons, the five Oasis Class ships are, in turn, more than 10% bigger than any other cruise vessels afloat. The bigger passenger capacity is in part due to the ship's greater focus on family travelers. Icon of the Seas was built with a lot more cabins that have plenty of extra bunks to accommodate families with many children.

It also has more amenities geared to families, including a new-for-the-line outdoor "neighborhood" called Surfside, dedicated to families with young children. Icon of the Seas' first sailing with paying passengers — a seven-night voyage to the Eastern Caribbean — is scheduled for Jan. 27. But TPG will get an early glimpse at the ship Thursday at an event in Miami (stay tuned for our first photos from inside the vessel). “Our Excel-class ships have been a tremendous addition to the Carnival fleet and proven very popular with our guests,” stated Carnival Cruise Line’s president, Christine Duffy, in today’s announcement.

At 1,196 feet long and weighing 248,663 gross tons, the Icon of the Seas is a sight to behold. When it launched in late January, the giant vessel upstaged its eight-foot shorter predecessor, the Wonder of the Seas, as the world's biggest. Royal Caribbean's first Oasis Class ship, Oasis of the Seas, began sailing in 2009.

Carnival Cruise Line released three brand-new cruise ships for its Excel Class between 2021 and 2023. Following the success of this class, Carnival Cruise Line has only released plans for building one additional new cruise ship in 2025 and none in 2026. The debut of the Excel Class marked a maritime milestone for Carnival Cruise Line, as the company had never built a ship as big or advanced in its history. The flagship vessel, Mardi Gras, was nearly 40% bigger than anything the cruise line had built before.
